Techfugees ("we", "us") is a non-profit organisation. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use techfugees.org and related services (the "Platform"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), profile photo, professional bio, and links you provide.
- Organisation data: information you submit when listing or editing an organisation (mission, location, contact, etc.).
- Usage data: pages visited, basic device information, and aggregated analytics used to improve the Platform.
- Communications: messages you send us via contact forms or email.
2. How we use it
- To operate the Platform and provide its features.
- To moderate content and verify organisations.
- To respond to enquiries and provide support.
- To send service updates and, with your consent, occasional newsletters.
- To produce aggregated, non-identifying statistics about the community.
3. Visibility & discoverability
You control whether your professional profile is publicly discoverable. Organisation listings are public by design once approved. You can edit or request deletion at any time.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share information only with trusted processors (hosting, email, analytics) under contract, or where required by law.
5. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR for EU/UK residents), you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No system is fully secure — please use a strong, unique password and report concerns to us promptly.
